About this cartoon: After having increased the deficit by a trillion dollars with their reckless massive tax-cut giveaway to the wealthiest citizens and corporations, the Republicans now find an excuse to attack Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and other social programs to help defray this new expense -- cutting such programs being a longstanding fevered dream of House Speaker Paul Ryan. The fact that he benefitted from government programs in younger days is an irony apparently lost to him.
